Recess Card - Happy Birthday Lexie

Loving these 'recess card'. I saw a tutorial on You Tube and decided to give it a go. They're really not that complicated and I love how they look. Not sure how well they'd fair in the post though(!)
This card is for my crafty friend Lexie. I've scheduled this post so right about now I should be in a Chinese restaurant with Lexie and Co celebrating! "Happy Birthday Lex!"

Side view so you can see the 'recess' a bit better.

Because of how the card is made it doesn't leave you with any choice but to decorate the inside to cover up the 'workings' of the recess.

Another Possible Mother's Day Card

I've made another possible Mother's Day card. I've left the greeting off so I can change the card into a birthday card or something if I change my mind.

Mother's Day Card...?

Made this quick car and thought it would be nice as a Mother's Day Card but I'm not going to add a sentiment yet as i might change my mind and then I could easily turn it into a birthday card if I wanted :-)

The stamp is by Hero Arts, coloured with Copics and highlighted with Stickles. Background embossed with swiss dots folder.

Simon Says Challenge

Hello!

Had a weekend of crafting (not a whole weekend unfortunately!) but managed to make quite a few cards which I'll post over the next week. Firstly, I made this card for the Simon Says Challenge which this time is -

• 3 TYPES OF EMBELLISHMENTS
• 2 PATTERNED PAPERS (you can also use coordinating cardstock)
• 1 IMAGE

I took A LOT of inspiration from Martine's card who is on the Simon Says DT. I couldn't help it, her card was so cute!

This card is for a man so I tried to 'butch it up' using string, buttons, a few distressed edges and manly colours. (No flowers here either!)

Wedding Card

Nothing to me says 'love' more than a wedding so I made a wedding card for the Simon Says challenge (but I missed it but I thought I'd post it anyway!) :-)


This card is currently winging it's way to Australia. International fame awaits ay?! ;-P

Road trip to Sir Stampalot!

At the weekend I went on a crafty road trip to Peterborough to Sir Stampalot with my crafty buddy Lexie (see Lexie's blog here).
We both had a fab day and treated ourselves to some lovely goodies.

It's been a while since I made a card 'just because' and below is the result.





It was so nice to just to play with and experiment with my new goodies :-)


The materials I used were: Dovecraft Feathered Friends stamp, Imaginisce sentiment stamp and paper from MME Wild Asparagus.

First card of 2010

Long time no post (again!)

Well, this is my first card for 2010 and for a very good friend. I tried something I've not really done before with the flowers and pins (the pins I made myself). Been seeing a lot of this in blog land and think it's just so sweet.

The image is coloured with Polychromos which I'm still getting the hang of but I love them :-)
